Swim-the-Pacific 4 Parkinson's Disease
11 one miles swims in 11 Pacific island nations
My next travel/exercise challenge will focus on Oceania. My personal goal is to reach 11 Pacific nations that I have not yet visited and swim 1 mile in each country. I also hope to further Parkinson's awareness and the realization that many of those affected by Parkinson's around the world don't have access to treatments, education and social understanding, especially those in the world's most isolated nations.

ReplyDeleteI was in the Marshall Islands for four months and swam a 2 miler across the lagoon at Namorik Atoll. You'll have fun!
ReplyDeleteBelow is a link to my latest blog entry about the future of PD therapies, thought you might be interested in taking a look.

I have recently started collaborating with a number of research labs that are working towards bringing to practice some of the therapies mentioned in that article with the goal of one day bringing an end to this disease.
I hope that my article might inspire people to keep fighting knowing that there are so many new and exciting therapies coming soon. Feel free to share that information with anyone who you think might benefit from it.
Looking forward to what the future has in store,
